The Best Pizza in Gavray

You can find the best pizza in Gavray at Les Quat'Z'Arts which provides a takeaway service only. So you simply ring your order through and then go and collect it from the shop. Orders take around 30 minutes or so to prepare and are freshly cooked.

There's just one size of pizza and it will serve two people. They make three pizzas under 8€; the Margarita, Sicilian and Flammekueche all offering great value. The Flammekueche is topped with crème fraîche, white wine, lardons (bacon bits) and onions.

I can highly recommend 'La Piquante' which is a spicy pizza topped with tomato, mozzarella, chorizo and chilli. It's delicious! For a regional speciality you could try 'La Normande' which includes tomato, mozzarella, andouille, apples and Gavray camembert. You can choose from 20 pizzas so there's plenty of choice including vegetarian options.

If you'd prefer a calzone, there are three options and prices start from 9€. However, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays they extend the menu to include a range of burgers. You can choose from a classic beef burger, chicken, spicy or vegetarian with an order of French fries, or you can ditch the fries and simply order the burger.

To wash it all down, they offer soft drinks, beer, cider and even wine. How very French! And of course the cider is produced locally in Normandy.

Practical details
The shop is open from 6pm every evening except Wednesdays. On Fridays and Saturdays the shop is also open at lunchtime. You call 06 74 69 52 00 to order and then you collect your pizzas from 3, Rue de la Libération, 50450 Gavray. For the full menu click here.

Meet The Author
Until 2014 I worked in central London as a marketeer for a membership organization. Years of watching property renovation programmes on TV sparked a dream to do this in France having studied French and worked there previously. I left my job and completed the sale of my house on the same day (a stroke of luck rather than good planning) and headed off to Normandy. I undertook a barn renovation project managing the artisans’ workload. The result is a 3 bedroom gite which I now market all year providing me with endless opportunities to increase my skills and knowledge.
