Townhouse in Old Town Ceret
Property Description
Ceret is a beautiful old town nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, with plane tree lined streets and shady squares. The town has retained its distinct Catalan heritage, which can be found in local customs, festivals and food. In the summer months, the local squares provide convenient stopping-off points for Sardane dancers as they wander the town. You can enjoy al fresco dining, under the plane trees and jostling umbrellas of the restaurants. Hearty Catalan dishes can be found on many menus in the town and beautiful surrounding villages.
Our holiday home is located in old town Ceret, adjacent to Place Neufs jets. Right in the centre of old Ceret, which is lively and popular on summer weekends, with occasional live music, chatter and laughter can be heard from nearby restaurants and wine bars in Place Neufs Jets. On Saturdays, the cobbled streets are lined with colourful market stalls selling locally produced cheeses, honey, fruit and veg, bread, wine and a wealth of local craft.
Our property can be identified, within the medieval walls, on maps dating back to 1647. Positioned on a pedestrianized only cobbled stoned pathway, guests have access to a public car park merely 20 metres away.
