Gothic architecture in Normandy
The Notre-Dame Cathedral in Coutances is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Normandy. The imposing building dominates the Coutances skyline with its grandeur. Close up, you get to see the intricate detail both inside and on the exterior. Gargoyles, rabbits, archers and dragons are just some of the elements to be found. These twin towers on the North end rise majestically to a height of 80 meters. Entrance to the cathedral is free.
