First Cyprus Vegan Fam Festival

What is Vegan Fam Festival?

The answer is, at a guess, all in the title I'd say. Vegan. Fam(ily) Festival. Let's read on to find out.

Vegan Fam Festival is billed as a celebration of life! It’s an opportunity for vegans and all with an interest in healthy living to come together and enjoy an exciting day.

This is the first such festival in Cyprus. It takes place at the Ancient Olive Tree Park, Psematismenos Village, Larnaca on the 14th September. Entrance is free.

Since Psematismenos is our neighbouring village why not pop along? Vegan Fam Festival is for anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle and diet. You don't have to be vegan to attend.

Since I'm always confusing vegetarianism and veganism, here's a handy explainer. I recognise this description will not be complete. It will though be a useful reminder.

Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggsdairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients. Many vegans also do not eat foods that are processed using animal products, such as refined white sugar and some wines

Food tasting - try vegan foods and sweets.

There will be workshops to attend.

Yoga classes, cooking courses, gardening advice.

Product exhibitions, a kids’ corner and opportunities to shop. Listen to DJ ’s and live music performances.

Learn about veganism through speeches and seminars,

Did I mention free entrance? Come along, you have nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

I'm a married grandparent and have two children. We have five delightful grandchildren, three boys and two girls. My wife Niki and I run Villa Carpe Diem, our owner designed accessible holiday villa on the sunshine island of Cyprus. I enjoy challenging myself to learn new skills. I have been a firefighter, a charity fund-raiser and more recently involved in the marketing and management of VCD. Whilst we aren't unique on Cyprus our villa serves a particular need - those who require a wheelchair and / or some other aid in order to be able to holiday. Our wheelchair accessible van has been the key that unlocks Cyprus for many of our guests. If you would like to know more about Cyprus, our experience gained from ten years living on the island provides a viewpoint which I am happy to share. Thank you for reading, Andy
