Charming El Castell de Guadalest💙
Perched on top of a five hundred metre high rock, this tiny 11th century village of just 200 inhabitants, is one of Spain’s most beautiful historic villages.
The village appears perched on a tiny pinnacle rising into the sky, giving absolutely amazing views of the green valley and aqua-marine reservoir below, and across to the verdant mountains in the background.
Explore the Guadalest castle (only accessible by walking through a 15 foot long tunnel carved out of the rock!), then wander the quaint cobbled village streets. Little squares, a school and an old jailhouse, shops selling crafts and local produce such as honey, wine, and leather goods - just a few of the many wonderful things to do! A must-see are the various museums featuring miniature art (think sculptures on a grain of rice!), dolls houses, salt and pepper shakers and historic vehicles.
Guadalest is a real treat of a half day / day out when staying on the Costa Blanca!
